Project Highlight: Skye, Pool View South, Palm Springs, California

Care for a Martini?

Any fan of Palm Springs knows two things: The desert oasis is a mecca for snowbirds and creatives, and it’s synonymous with midcentury modern style. Chameleon Design built upon these archetypes to help Woodbridge Pacific Group present Skye, a new community located within walking distance of downtown Palm Spring’s vibrant shopping and restaurant district. The spacious, well-designed floor plans with luxury finishes provided the ideal backdrop for our design, which includes all the details required for a Mad Men-style happy hour. Inspired by the desert color palette, we incorporated punches of tangerine, citron and turquois to complement the glossy white modern flat panel cabinets and large format, white porcelain tile we selected. With a space focused on entertaining, the only thing a homeowner will have to decide is whether to serve martinis poolside or in the outdoor den.

Project Highlight: Celadon at Parasol Park, Plan 4, Irvine, California

Midcentury Modern Meets 21^st Century Family Life

The newest of the Great Park neighborhoods in Irvine, Celadon at Parasol Park stands out for its well-conceived designs for modern homebuyers leading busy lifestyles, including one floor plan just right for growing families with four children. The builder, William Lyons Homes, tapped Chameleon Design to envision an eclectic version of midcentury modern interior design for this model that is budget- and kid-friendly. The result is as appropriate for playtime as it is for cocktail hour, thanks to a mix of surprisingly affordable pieces that mimic vintage lines. We selected a fun and energetic color palette based on pops of color as a design solution with all-white walls. We also took the opportunity to play with shapes and finishes, such as the multisided coffee table and brass trunk in the living room or nubby pillows and a nightstand featuring a honeycomb-inspired façade in the master bedroom. From morning school bell to après-dinner entertainment – and the family moments that happen in between – this design is tailor-made for Southern California lifestyles.

Chameleon Design Featured Project // The Covey, Buena Park, CA

In partnering with William Lyon Homes to welcome homebuyers to The Covey in Buena Park, Chameleon Design captured the warmth and simplicity of the community’s farmhouse aesthetics by infusing calming shades of white, taupe and green – leading with Greenery, Pantone Color Institute 2017 Color of the Year. We reinforced this refreshing color palette by incorporating other design trends we believe you’ll see in architecture, interior décor and fashion this year, such as raw surfaces, organic materials, and unifying features like board and batten. The result is a thoroughly modern yet intrinsically familiar design ready for growing families, with plenty of room for entertaining effortlessly.

Plan 3 at Monterra PGA West is a beautifully designed home with a covered patio area, a gorgeous pool and a casita set against the mountainous backdrop in La Quinta. The interior features a casual elegance design style complete with rich stone flooring set against wood, brown, tan and natural furnishings. The color palette includes off whites, brown, copper and pops of rich emerald green.

Chameleon Design Featured Project // Monterra at PGA West, Plan 2, La Quinta, CA

Monterra Plan 2 boasts a modern eclectic interior design style with rich neutrals accented with pops of blue, copper and dark red. We used an interesting mix of rustic and reclaimed wood, iron and bamboo accents grounded on a wood looking porcelain plank flooring. Set within a golf course community this home is perfect for an active, mature family with plenty of space to entertain or relax after a day of golf!

Plan 1 at Monterra PGA West in La Quinta is a uniquely designed 3,180 square foot home with 3 bedrooms and 4.5 baths overlooking a beautiful golf course. The interiors are Spanish Modern featuring eclectic furniture in a color palette of fuchsia and orange. Sand and neutral tones added into the mix created the perfect balance and a nice flow into the spacious backyard and pool.

Plan 3 at Terrace Ridge is a beautiful, uniquely designed 3,127 square foot home with 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Overlooking the hills of Dublin, CA., the home interior features a modern “Monterey, California” style complete with state of the art furniture, a two-car garage and a spacious outdoor patio. We used a color palette that included chocolate browns, ivory and dashes of persimmon and love the outcome. What do you think?

With a French country inspired design, this 4 bedroom, 4 bath home is perfect for a multi-generational family looking for a bit more room. Clean wall moldings married with warm wood accents create an opulent feel and the rich ochre, mustard and vintage leather used in the design lend to that elegance as well. This is a gorgeous home for a family with sophisticated, more traditional tastes.

It was designed with a “European-eclectic” style, furnished with traditional pieces and a fresh color palette of green apple, white and crisp linen. Floors are rich hardwood, which creates a nice contrast, and an added wall creates a perfect place to do a custom entertainment build-in.

Waverly at New Haven Plan 3 by Brookfield Homes is a spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bath plan with a bonus room upstairs. It is designed with a rustic modern feel. The white walls, trim, linen accents and countertops give this house a fresh and bright feel, while the natural oak plank floors, mocha stained cabinets and black and chocolate accent colors provide contrast and warmth to the design. White, linen, black and brown colors and textures create the design palette of the home and tie the two styles together. Each room contains both rustic and modern furniture and design elements that collectively combine to create a whimsy feel ideal for a young family.
