Chameleon Design Celebrates 20 Years!

We are proud to celebrate 20 years of successful business this month!  Reaching such a significant milestone didn’t happen overnight, it’s because of you that we’ve made it this far in our journey.

In 1992, I launched Chameleon Design out of Newport Beach, California focusing on housing and apartment development design.  Out of the gate, we secured our very first client, Trimark Pacific Homes.  Times were tough in the marketplace, but for us, we saw that there was an opportunity to bring solutions to builders’ needs as they struggled in the down turn of the economy.  It was exactly the right strategy as we kept growing through doubling our projects year after year for a good part of the first decade in business — I’ll never forget those early days!

Our founding philosophy reflects our name and is still what guides us in our work today; we are a team of design professional who are flexible, adaptable and ever-changing to stay ahead of design trends and meet the market demands.  Our style maintains a fresh quality, blending modern classic pieces with eclectic and whimsical themes by studying both artists whose work inspires us, as well as contemplating global design and fashion trends outside the world of interiors. We see art and design as a conversation between contemporary culture, millennia of classic design, and the perennial elements of the natural world. We also draw upon mid-century modern influences.  We take great pride not only in helping a client to define their desired aesthetic, but also in a seamless execution of the project’s completion — no matter the scale of the job. Whether it’s a high-end project with a substantial budget, a tight time restraint or a limited budget, we enjoy it all.

Throughout 20 years of business, Chameleon Design has had the pleasure of working with many notable clients including:  Lennar Homes (Orange County, Inland Empire and Desert Divisions), Brookfield (Southland and San Diego Divisions), Woodbrige Homes, William Lyon Homes and Silver Oak Capital.  We’ve been recognized nationally with almost 70 design awards including MAME, The Nationals, Elan and the Laurel Awards and featured in  Riviera Magazine, MORE Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, the Orange County Register and more.  Currently we have a couple projects open locally for those who are interested in experiencing our most recent work: Woodbridge Pacific’s Valinda community in San Juan Capistrano and Lennar Home’s The Ridge community in Mission Viejo.
