Project Highlights

An Eclectic Mix That’s Refreshingly Modern at Indigo Plan 1

When creating interiors, every design detail is important, but it’s especially so in smaller spaces. Our team maximized every inch of this two-bedroom townhome of Indigo at Canvas Park by Brookfield Residential to help prospective buyers envision living large in a smaller footprint. It’s all about scale here, the careful curation of appropriately sized pieces to achieve a stylish balance between form and function. A slim console table and embellishments create a defined entryway and establish a sense of arrival. Cool tones and fresh neutrals complement natural elements like the wood dining table, cocktail table, and three-dimensional block wall decor that play up the organic themes. The white floating shelf creates a chic and layered gallery wall so art and photos can be easily swapped out when it’s time for a change. The interplay of crisp white wall decor against a green wall is unexpected and adds dimension in the master. With its smaller sectional, media, and kids’ craft table, the narrow loft is a reimagined multi-purpose space that’s fun for the kids and stylish enough for the grown-ups to enjoy!

Natural Modern at Solstice Plan 3

This Plan 3 townhome at Solstice by Brookfield Residential lives large with a warm, masculine feel that’s on point and timeless. Thoughtful use of patterns, materials, and color softens the clean-lined vibe. A palette of creamy white, graphite, and mustard hues are cool and transitional, complementing the natural light pouring in from large great room windows. Potted greenery adds a pop of color, grounds the main living areas, and draws the eye to furnishings with a nod to nature and the outdoors. The low-slung, mid-century sofa is simple and stylish, and allows the eye to easily move across the room to give the illusion of more space. Everyone has a spot at the comfy rustic table with bench seating to maximize a narrow dining room, and industrial counter stools connect it to the open and functional kitchen, complete with an upcycled fringe rug and iron lantern pendant. Original artwork in both dining and master bedrooms offers an elevated touch, and bunk beds in secondary bedrooms take the design vertical to create more livable space. (Check out our shared room design post for more inspiration.) This chic haven offers lovely family living in Ontario!

Natural Sophistication at Enliven Plan Two

The Plan Two model at Enliven at The Resort in Rancho Cucamonga is a lesson in understated sophistication that’s open, welcoming, and family friendly: a breath of fresh air for the wonderfully diverse group of buyers who come to make a home here.

The fresh and modern three-story townhome by Van Daele Homes is highlighted by a rich color scheme of tans, charcoals, black, cream, and pops of mustard to evoke a vibe that’s cozy, yet lively. We loved using  area rugs in the great room to subliminally create a distinction of space in this open-concept floorplan, and to also round out a walk-through living space with some poufs for added seating. The home features a unique niche off the eat-in kitchen that makes for a perfect at-home office. By incorporating floating shelves for display, built-in storage, a desk, and a bassinet to watch the little one, the work-at-home photographer can wear multiple hats as a rockstar parent and #BestBossEver.

A striking Calacatta quartz island with a waterfall edge adds a sleek touch to the ebony kitchen, and honey-toned wood-look flooring complements and warms up the space. The master suite is full of earth tones and tactile texture, and we used a crisp white shutter on the bed wall window to add elevated sophistication while camouflaging into the board and batten wall treatment. The children’s bedrooms are whimsical and playful, with a geometric paint treatment and alphabet rug in the nursery, and a Batman-themed space for a budding superhero ready to save the day!

Farmhouse Chic at Tracy Hills

Great family living grows throughout the Tracy Hills master-planned community in Tracy, CA. Our team set out to enhance the natural warmth and inviting feel throughout the Welcome Center, multipurpose room, neighborhood market, pool, and shared outdoor spaces surrounding the areas.

A study in balanced contrast, the modern farmhouse-style Welcome Center features exposed beams and board and batten to scale down the dramatic volume of the soaring ceilings, establishing an intimate and cozy mood. Pops of vibrant color, reclaimed wood flooring, and wall details add dimension to the charming rustic design, and an expansive mountainscape mural pays homage to the surrounding natural beauty of the scenic hills. Agrarian farmhouse meets high-tech through warm wood tones and bright whites, and a nine-screen TV wall that showcases the future development plans for this lovely community.

Large distressed sliding barn doors that open to the outdoors are the highlights of the community multipurpose room, offering residents convenient opportunities to socialize indoors by the cozy stacked stone fireplace or under the sun and stars. The resort-style pool area features eye-catching citron and navy Adirondack chairs, an appealing combination of traditional and modern, a nuanced representation of the overall appeal of this Northern California community.

Casual Elegance at Trend’s Plan One

We may be in the heart of winter, but spring has sprung in Plan One at Trend at Novel Park by William Lyon Homes. The floorplan does not feature a distinctive entryway, so a larger-than-life paperweave floral wallpaper provides a dramatic sense of arrival. An entry mirror placed on the opposing wall opens up the space and provides a fun way to snap a selfie in the model home. In the kitchen, we specified an upper cabinet option to the ceiling to expand limited space and take advantage of all the natural light flooding in from the sink’s three-window view, and a matte black patio set and chairs invite easy and stylish indoor-outdoor living off the family room.

A color palette of plum, blush, cream, taupe, and black is feminine yet casually refined. Styling is a balanced combination of modern sophistication and playful elegance, with clean furnishings, a blend of wood and metal finishes, and touches of youthful whimsy throughout the wall treatments and artwork. Coming home is an exercise of effortless style at Trend in Irvine’s Great Park Neighborhoods!

Modern and Masculine: Plan One at Origin

It’s all modern ease in this single-story Plan One home at Origin by Trumark Homes, located in the age-qualified master-planned community at The Collective in Manteca, CA. Masculine styling pays homage to the cultured world traveler, whisky lover, and art collector, offering an upscale and relaxed respite from the everyday.

Revel in a bit of Indiana Jones-meets-007 for the 21st century that’s casual yet refined, adventurous yet calm, cool, and collected. Soft gray flooring complements the unique angled entry hall and grounds the eye while exposed beams and crisp paneling accentuate the sleek design. A home office off the entry offers privacy and a quiet place to focus, with built-in shelving perfect for displaying found objects, artwork, and collected pieces. Cool angled planks throughout the rest of the home add a modernistic touch, including the master bedroom where they make the wheat wallpapered accent wall come alive and highlight the mid-century furnishings. The kitchen is understated and sophisticated, with calming neutrals counterbalanced by the modern warm leather counter stools, while a sculptural light fixture draws the eye upward. A backyard perfect for entertaining includes features the whole family will enjoy, like the built-in kitchenette with beer tap, built-in barbecue, gas fireplace, and plenty of comfortable seating. This impressive home is full of unique touches and surprises – like a sweet Harley in the garage/workshop – ideal for adventurers and bon vivants alike!

Modern Minimalist Vibes in Modo Plan 3 at Novel Park

Cool minimalism is the name of the game in the Modo Plan 3 model that’s open, welcoming, and a breath of fresh air in the master-planned community of Novel Park by William Lyon Homes in Irvine, CA. Minimalistic furnishings and décor draw attention to the spacious first-floor layout, highlighting the open feel with ample room for hosting family gatherings and entertaining. A calming blue is heavily featured throughout the navy, graphite, black, and white color palette, complementing the overall masculine design and styling that speak to an elevated, luxury lifestyle.

A convenient drop zone off the garage with a painted pegboard provides families with a place for keys, mail, bags, and kids’ gear without creating unnecessary clutter in the main living areas. Board and batten-style paneling and an upholstered headboard in the master bedroom add touches of comfort and balance to the more modern furnishings. Taking advantage of the SoCal sunshine is seamless on the third-floor covered deck with lounge seating, dining for eight, and a built-in kitchenette. And while the parents are away (downstairs), the kids will play. . . in their very own third-floor bonus room with a craft and display wall as well as an oversized chalkboard!

Beyond the Verge of Great Style

Everything about this Plan One home design at Verge is smart, crisp, and chic. Marketed to the young single professional or student, Verge is one of seven distinctive home collections by William Lyon Homes in the master-planned community of Novel Park in Irvine, CA. A harmonious balance of playfulness and restraint, the overall design is a true multi-color palette against soothing neutral backgrounds within a mid-century aesthetic.

The three-story, single-bedroom floorplan feels open and generous, with soft accent paint highlighting and accentuating the architectural windows in the main living space and the multiple sculptural sputnik chandeliers hung from the third-floor ceiling. The foyer’s whimsical orange wallpapered accent wall and bold blue console table create a sense of arrival before the stairs leading up to the second-floor living areas. Gray serves as the perfect neutral for both flooring and sofas, a solid foundation upon which to layer colors and prints throughout. The wood coffee and dining tables add warmth and beautifully complement the bright wall paint and white kitchen cabinetry. The eye is treated to mid-century furnishings, vibrant pops of color and geometric patterns throughout the home, creating a memorable impression on the neighborhood’s target market. Meet the Spacious, Stylish Echo Plan 3

William Lyon Homes hits it out of the park with Echo plan 3: One of seven collections in the Novel Park master planned community. Nestled in the dynamic and active Great Park Neighborhoods in Irvine, this model is a modern three-story single-family home with the perks of a traditional-home layout. The kitchen, living and dining rooms are on the first floor, all 4 bedrooms are on the second and a large bonus and covered deck occupy the third floor. The contemporary furnishings are a mix of Spanish style with touches of rustic elements. Light backgrounds and soft linen walls are adorned with pops of fuchsia, tangerine and camel. Unique wall décor like woven baskets in the living room, oversized metal florals in a girl’s room and family photo collage in the hallway add dramatic accents in key areas. The drama continues with the design challenge displayed in the master bedroom with off-set windows and an odd pop out in the corner of the room. This was overcome by stacking stunning drapery off to one side and adding macramé hanging planters in the pop out above the nightstand. The Echo plan 3 is the ideal balance of conventional, practical space and trend-worthy style in Irvine’s newest and most interesting neighborhoods.
